So believe it or not this is my first time ever traveling with an propane tank and I cannot seem to figure out how to put it so what I do is extensively (I mean really extensively) be creative and use the seatbelts. I put it at the passenger seat. Then I bought a cushion to prevent scratches to the glove compartment. It rolls around and cannot stay in place when I tried putting it in the cargo. So. Do you have any idea how to transport properly? Figures this ain't really ok and a lasting way to do it.

@GreysPhysiology i suggest getting a propane tank holder for your car it keeps it secure and stops it from rolling around you can find them online or at a hardware store much safer than using seatbelts and a cushion

the basic stuff, just make sure to keep it upright and secure it with a cargo net or a dedicated tank holder. Avoid letting it roll around, and ensure the valve is closed tightly.

i think you already know that you need to secure it so well that it doesnt tip. also, please never ever leave in it inside a closed car under direct sunlight.. safe travels!

Don't forget to open the windows slightly, it's just for another layer of protection. Propane tanks have an added odor for safety so when it leaks you can smell it.

I use one of those bungee cords to secure it, it works well

you can try with ratchet straps and the tiedown points in the trunk. It won't move an inch if you tie it down right

Bungee cords and the ratchet straps, agree. Used them both to ensure safety

I can understand being cautious, but you're not transporting depleted uranium, so like a few members said: a set of ratchet straps or bungee cords will do just fine to keep the tank in place
