There was a day my sister took her Passport Elite into the Ocala National Forest for some trail running and ham radio and I went with her. She misjudged a deep rut and got high-centered, but thankfully, the front skid plate helped, but more protection would've been nice. Sand and water crossings had been fine until we hit a water hole deeper than we anticipated. Stuck with no way forward or back, so we called for help. And all the while we were waiting, it was all snacks, fun and games, with some dancing too lol
Her husband arrived with his Jeep Gladiator, and a simple tow strap pull got us out. Had to reverse more than quarter a mile before turning around. The Passport handled reversing in sand mode just as well as moving forward.
Lesson learned: even with a lift, there's always a deeper bog out there, I helped with cleaning out the next day and it almost took the whole day but it was definitely worth it
